How It Started. Rooted in Passion.

In 2008, Scott Strickland began a passion project in Los Angeles, bringing Italian Ice from the East Coast to sunny California. When he moved to San Diego in 2014, few people had heard of it, but he believed they'd love it, and he was right when he brought his dream to life.

The Turning Point

After facing tough setbacks with rising costs and limited exposure, Scott took a leap of faith, rolled up his sleeves and began crafting small batch recipes with fun flavors and natural ingredients. We serve weekly at farmers markets throughout San Diego and Riverside County.

every flavor I’ve tried so far has been absolutely delicious and the employees are so nice! My favorite flavor so far is definitely pink lemonade with a scoop of sweet tea! they also have some locally made products in store like a farmers market stand.

Now you can get the farmers market ice and salsa whenever you want! Getting Italian ice is always the kids highlight of the farmers market, now that they have a storefront in the heart of Poway we love to stop by for a quick cold treat. The outside bar top is perfect to hang and enjoy. Great staff and even better shaved ice!

Literally so good I never write reviews but this place has so many flavors and was so well priced as well!! Used to drive to laguna beach for the closest Rita’s since the one in PQ was shut down and haven’t found anything quite as good but can confirm SoCal Beach Ice is even better!! Even offering a soft serve as well..
